Am I lazy, or what?
Actually, I've been taking a two-week breather between jobs. Start the new gig on Monday. You'd think I'd have time to compose and blog, but no.
On the other hand, I've started the seeds for the vegetable garden (trying peanuts this year, thanks to my friend Larry), been to NYC (liked the Samuel Palmer, but not as much as Husbando), visited Peabody Essex Museum's Summer in New England show (best: two impasto sketches by Hopper), and dropped by the Cape Ann Historical Museum.
This is spring migration month, so have espied Northern Parula, a female Prothonotary Warbler, Black and White Warbler, and the Yellow-Rumped Warbler. Besides the sheer delight of being woken up every morning around 4 by Mr. Catbird, who sings himself into a frenzy.

We’ve had Black and White, Northern Parula, Black Throated Green and Yellow warblers. I heard the Oreole too.

Enjoy! I envy you your warblers. I can never seem to see any. Did, however, espy a rose-breasted grosbeak, Baltimore oriole, and eastern towhee in recent days. Fun little additions to the backyard regulars.

You’ve seen more warblers than I have this Spring. I visited Mt. Auburn cemetery and only got a glimpse of the Yellow-Rumped, Northern Parula, and Palm warblers. I did see a ton of Baltimore Orioles. And a Red Tailed Hawk and I think a Broad Shouldered hawk. The rain didn’t help.

I’m finally seeing some of my peanuts germinating. Probably 25% so far. Need some hot weather and the rain to stop for the rest. Put in my melons & squash last week and most have come up already. Parsnip are now up.
